Enter: City gates.
We begin in medieval Berlin.
Set in the silhouette is Brandenburger Tor, the gate through which Friedrich Wilhelm II returned to Berlin after securing a victory in the Thirty Years War.
Set in the background is a pointed arch of the Franciscan Minster, the oldest remains of a church in Berlin.
Walk through the old city.
Set within the silhouette is the silhouetter of Nikolaikirche, one of the oldest remaining pieces of the old city. And behind that is the old city hall.
Set in the background is the unkempt courtyard of a Baroque church that was undergoing reconstruction.

Welcome to the Golden Age.
Museum Island houses the epitome of Berlin's cultural growth.
Set withing the silhouette is the Berliner Dom, a masterpiece of Historicist architecture and an icon of the city that I am most drawn to.

The bust of Goddess Athena watches over the blue-haired graffiti-man as he pushes himself to get back n his feet.
Set within Athena is the Memorial of the Murdered Jews of Europe.
